Visual identification at high speeds

VID (Visual Identification) is a system for identification and quality control of marking on long products — cables, profiles and pipes — at high production speeds, developed for Miviko.

The system uses an industrial line scan camera and computer vision algorithms to read markings in real time, with integration into a Siemens S7-1214 PLC and an ERP system.

What was delivered

Development of a complete hardware-software system

A complete visual identification system was developed — from camera selection and integration to computer vision algorithms, PLC control and ERP connectivity.

  • 01 Development of OCR algorithms for reading markings at high speeds.
  • 02 Integration of the Alkeria NECTA line scan camera into the production line.
  • 03 PLC control on the Siemens S7-1214 platform.

Results

Reliable marking control at high speeds

The system enables reliable identification and quality control of marking on products up to 11 km long at speeds up to 350 m/min, reducing the share of incorrectly marked products.

VID was developed as a standalone Homa Engineering product for specialized manufacturers of cables, profiles and pipes.
